TK/K Distance Learning Packets - Fall Week 7 & Week 8! NO PREP PRINTABLES!

This post has the links for TWO NEW weeks of Distance Learning Packets! Week Seven and Week Eight are just like the previous weeks - in each file you will find all of the work for one week of school, for TK, with some worksheets that will work for Kindergarten, for both Math and Language Arts subjects. We've included a variety of worksheets and activities, so feel free to use any or all of it with your students!

Week 7 focuses on the letter E, number 5, and the sight word "go". There are four worksheets/activities for the letter E, along with fluency practice for letters A-E. We've also included a fun counting creatures worksheet for the number 5 and shape creatures worksheet for finding rectangles. Just like in week 6, for this week we're including worksheets for "environmental print". Environmental print is “everyday life” writing that is not in a book, such as logos, signs on buildings, labels, street signs, food wrappers, etc. I'm having my students look for letters they know, on things like a cereal box, a magazine or newspaper, or other things they find around the house!

Monday Week 7

Hands on activities for Week 7 include making the letter E out of play dough, making the word "go" with stickers, and finishing up the Shape Book craft activity. Directions for how to make this craft is included, along with photos of each completed project. Please note that this packet is appropriate for either TK or Kindergarten, but can be used in Kindergarten depending on your class needs.

Tuesday Week 7

Week 8 focuses on the letter F, number 6, and the sight word "like". There are four worksheets/activities for the letter F, along with fluency practice for letters A-F. We've also included a fun counting creatures worksheet for the number 6 and shape creatures worksheet for a fun black cat shape search. Just like in week 7, for this week we're including worksheets for "environmental print".

Monday Week 8

Hands on activities for Week 8 include making the letter F out of play dough, making the word "like" with dot paint markers, and using pattern blocks to make the word "like". Week 8 for me is the first week of October, so I added some fun October themed art projects including a pumpkin, black cat, and "creepy pair of underwear". Check out my Creepy Pair of Underwear blog post for more info on this art project! Directions for how to make these crafts are included, along with photos of each completed project.

Friday Week 8

In my experiences, children in TK generally need much more time to learn, and even more developmentally appropriate, hands-on activities than are necessary for most children in Kindergarten. A list of recommended HeidiSongs music videos for the week is also included, and it links to our HeidiSongs internet video site. However, a subscription to our internet video streaming site is not included. You are welcome to eliminate this page as needed.

Wednesday Week 7

We've divided everything up by day of the week in each packet, (Monday-Friday) so you have the option of sending this entire packet to students, with everything labeled out on what to do each day! Permission is granted to distribute to families/students in your classroom. We've also included an editable Weekly Lesson Plan page, for those who may want to only include bits and pieces from our packet, or add in worksheets of their own.

Wednesday Week 8

You may notice that there are lots of hands-on activities for math included. However, on each of these “worksheets,” (which are more like parent handouts), I have stated on it that it is fine to substitute another type of toy or manipulative, such as Lego bricks, etc.

Friday Week 7

When I teach remotely, I print out the packets and send them to families, divided by day of the week. We start with our Morning Meeting, and then I give directions for each activity (all via Zoom or Google Meets,) sing with the children using the music videos referenced, and have the children do the activities right there while I “watch” online and wait for questions. Children that finish early can “go play” or read a book at home until we are ready to proceed with the next activity. However, this packet would also work for families to just use them without video guidance from the teacher. It should work either way.  :)
