"We used the HeidiSongs DVD's last year all the time. I "piloted" them in Alabama and they were WONDERFUL. What I did was this: each morning we had a 10 minute slot (this was around February when they arrived) and I would put in the dvd. We would do the songs for 10 minutes and the next morning pick up where it left off. When the dvd was over we started back at the beginning - on Friday's we had a "spelling test" on five of the words from the dvd. (I didn't actually take a grade on it . It was just to see how well they could spell them and to help get them ready for 1st grade) They did wonderful! Out of 17 students - 2 were unable to get any words (1 of those is being retained in kindergarten) 1 got about 2 words (he is also being retained) The other 14 made 100% or only missed 1 every week! If they hesitated I could say "remember the song" and they would start singing to themselves and be able to write the word! It was great!"

This fun picture book is designed to help introduce young children to the general procedures used in many classrooms, such as putting their own materials away, using a just a small amount of glue, remembering to replace the caps on markers, using quiet voices inside, and using words like “please” and “thank you,” etc. The text is designed for children to join into the refrain and repeat the procedures aloud.
Children enjoy the idea of a dog in the classroom, attempting to learn “how to be” in school. They love it when they find that they are smarter than Wiggles! Includes a reproducible student-sized book for children to color and take home, as shown above.
