Nursery Rhymes: Music with Mother Goose CDThis award winning CD was written to teach children the basic nursery rhymes that are often taught in preschools, homes, and kindergarten classrooms everywhere! Each nursery rhyme has been set to music to make memorization quick and easy! Plus, we have written out some great suggested movements for you to make it a FUN and ACTIVE learning experience for your little ones! You can download them free at the link below.

We have now animated the first 15 songs of our Nursery Rhymes CD, for your viewing pleasure, available today on our Vimeo On-Demand channel! Your child can now follow the music, movements and animations for a more active learning experience. The video includes a variety of illustration styles to help keep interest and repeatability, so be sure to check out our sample movie above. We're currently working on the balance of the songs and should have a full-blown DVD soon, so check it out now and check back again soon!

Parents, caregivers, and teachers have been teaching their children nursery rhymes for hundreds of years. The reason that nursery rhymes continue to be popular is because they help children develop language, vocabulary, and help them form the foundation for learning to rhyme words on their own. Many nursery rhymes also contain phrases that start with words that all have the same beginning sounds, so this helps children begin to become aware of the sounds of their language.

As children learn these traditional rhymes, they exercise and stretch their memory skills, which helps them prepare to memorize future material. This means that learning nursery rhymes helps the brain “practice memorizing” so that it will be ready to remember harder things, such as the alphabet, sight words, or math facts.

Please note that our HeidiSongs CD includes only the first verse of each nursery rhyme. We did this to keep it simple for very young children, and to help all children be successful at memorizing them. To help make this an active learning experience, download our free illustrations and notes on the motions at the link below. When kids put their whole body into it, they can’t help but learn!

HeidiSongs has partnered with Vimeo to offer you streaming, on-demand videos of many of our DVD's through a one-year rental with Vimeo! This platform brings you unlimited, easy playback on all your devices, anywhere you have a connection. Once your rental purchase is made through Vimeo, all you need is the Vimeo Player app for your devices, and/or an up-to-date browser on your computer, with a fairly fast internet connection, and you're all set! (Please note that this a separate transaction through Vimeo.) While many folks will still prefer the convenience and accessibility of our video DVD's, this video on-demand option is a nice addition for your iPad, phone, or other tablet device. Plus, the one year rental option is a nice way to try our wonderful HeidiSongs videos in your home or classroom, or to supplement your existing DVD's with multiple viewing devices. One other thing to remember is that our on-demand movies play straight through, with no chapter divisions for skipping to specific songs or menu's for navigation, so please be aware of that.

It's important to test your device before you make your rental purchase through Vimeo, as we don't have the ability to refund purchases made to Vimeo if your device is unsupported or if you have a poor quality internet connection to your school or home. Heidi discovered this when she tried to use the videos on her school computer, only to realize the Window's Internet Explorer browser was outdated, and she had to call the district for an update. An easy test is to verify that the movie "trailer" plays well on your device or computer, if it does, you should not have a problem with purchasing a movie.
