This fun book was written to accompany the 1-100 Song on the Jumpin' Numbers and Shapin Shapes CD/DVD and Musical Math CD/DVD. In it, we go on a journey with a school aged boy as he tries to collect one hundred items from his home and friends. He counts them off as he goes and throws them in his wagon. At the end of the book, we see that he has been creating a collection for the One Hundredth Day of School, and his whole class is celebrating!
This book has the look and feel of a "Hunt and Find" type of book, but the children are looking for numbers scattered all over the page, rather than hidden objects. It gives great practice in counting and identifying those larger numbers up to one hundred. Heidi's students loved to sit together to read the book, and see who could find the numbers first! Sometimes they sang the song as they counted, and sometimes they did not, but they always loved it! Heidi also appreciated having a book for those students to excel at who were better at math than at reading, too.
