On Friday, we took dry erase boards and used my Sounds Fun Phonics Word Building Kit to make words!! This activity has TOTALLY been helping my struggling first grade readers! They’ve grown by leaps and bounds since I started using this kit again.
They practice making the words on their fluency charts with the cards and writing them on the white boards. Then they practice reading the words on their charts! It’s helping them see the chunks in the words!
I just retested them and their BPST phonics scores went up by more than 10% since the last testing!! EXCITING, RIGHT?!
