Have you tried a Write the Room activity with your students yet? This fun CVC "write the room" activity was created to help children identify, read, and write the consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) words in the given word families. The basic idea is that you "hide" () the cards around the room, and then children go on a word hunt! When they find the card, they decide which of the three words it is, and copy it onto their recording sheet. You can also use the cards with NO words at the bottom, if your kiddos are up to the challenge!
Children LOVE to get up and walk around the room with a clipboard or a hard surface, and write the words they find on their recording sheet. It lets them stretch their legs and move around while learning. They also sometimes try to beat each other to find ALL of the cards and fill in their whole recording sheet.
CVC Write the Room Vol. 1 includes color word cards for the following word families:
Short A: -an, -at
Short E: -et, -en, -eg
Short I: -it, -in, -ig, -ip
Short O: -op, -ot, -ox
Short U: -ug, -ut, -un
Plus Mixed Word Families:
A and I
A, I, and O
A, I O, and E
A, I, O, E, U
Vol. 1 includes 142 pages: 12 different Write the Room activities included, with an easy and a hard version of each, for a total of 24 different Write the Room Activities for Short A, E, I, O U - All for $5 on my TPT store!

Short A: -ap, -ag, -ad
